From the 1970s to the 1990s, Zeis was known above all for its upstairs wine tavern. Evenings ran late, and Schäuferla and sauerbraten were already part of the house tradition. A second dining room was added on the ground floor in 2007; over time, the focus increasingly shifted towards the restaurant and terrace.
Franconian, family-run and in the heart of Bamberg
The former meeting place became a traditional Franconian restaurant with the character of a living room. Zeis has been a family business for more than 20 years. In 2018 and 2019, it was handed over to the next generation.
Nadine and Julian
Nadine grew up at Zeis and was already helping in the business as a teenager. She met Julian while studying in Munich. Today Julian runs the kitchen and Nadine leads the service team. Together they want to bring locals and visitors to the same table with homemade Franconian food, honest quality and personal service.
