Your hosts · a family business for more than 20 years

An inn with a history – and a future.

Zeis has changed over the decades. What has remained is Franconian food, personal encounters and a house that is proud of its own character.

Zeis – those were the days

From a 1970s meeting place to a Franconian inn on Obstmarkt.

From the 1970s to the 1990s, the upstairs wine tavern in particular was a meeting place for long evenings. Schäuferla and sauerbraten were already part of the house tradition.

A second dining room was added on the ground floor in 2007. Over time the focus shifted: the terrace became more important, the restaurant business grew and the former meeting place became a traditional Franconian restaurant with the character of a living room.

The next generation

Nadine grew up at Zeis and was already helping in the business at the age of 14. She met Julian while studying in Munich. In 2018 and 2019, the family business was handed over to the next generation.

Today Julian runs the kitchen and Nadine leads the service team. Their shared aim is homemade Franconian food of honest quality, personal service and a place where locals and visitors to the city feel equally welcome.
